     Crow control recommendations from the DANR-University of California

• Deploy the Bird Gard PRO units at the first sign of crow damage.
• Place the speakers above the canopy (or as high as possible in the canopy), and conceal the speakers with netting or a bag.
• Initially set the Bird Gard PRO unit to play on the long cycle(L).
• Use at least one Bird Gard Super PRO every 8 acres.
• Change the location of each Bird Gard PRO unit twice a week. Move the units to newly damaged areas of the orchard or areas where damage is likely to occur, such as in preferred varieties. Also change the cycle selection staying between medium(M) and long(L)...making them out of sync with other units.
• Make daily inspections to ensure that the units are operating and the batteries are charged.
• Have a spare battery available to quickly replace discharged batteries.
• Be prepared to use a shotgun on occasion if the crows seem to be habituating.
